Basic course of theatrical practice for adults

A practical and gradual path designed for those who have never set foot on a stage and want to approach the theater without access requirements or previous experience. Theatre is addressed in its most concrete dimension: a space for research and work on body, voice, listening and rules of stage presence.

The Practical Path

  • From the Jugglers to the Art of Entrepreneurship: The journey starts from the roots of popular theater: the figure of the medieval jester, the comic gesture, the satire and the ability to keep the scene by yourself. Through the study of the story, one learns to master the word and the rhythm of the story, laying the foundations for the subsequent passage to the masks and types of the Commedia dell’Arte.
  • Techniques and Revolutions of the Twentieth Century: An immersion in the great theatrical pedagogies of the twentieth century to assimilate the different methods of acting: from Stanislavsky’s search for physical action and emotional memory to Mejerchol’d’s biomechanical actor, to the formal rigour and stage synthesis of Brecht and Strehler. The course will also cover the economy of gesture and the analysis of the text theorized by Ronconi, providing a complete range of tools for the construction of the character and the dramatic presence.
  • Knowing How to Tell and Tell Yourself: A specific focus on storytelling in front of an audience. Developing the ability to articulate a story – be it an author’s text or a personal experience – means learning to capture the attention of the public, modulating breaks and using the voice as a tool of emotional impact.
  • Body, Space and Voice: Practical work on diaphragmatic breathing, diction, voice emission and stage space management, to overcome physical rigidity and gain control and ease.
  • Text Analysis and Character Building: As we read a dramaturgical page to transform words into visible action, training attention, memory and interpretative intention.
  • Corality and Working Together: In theatre, the individual exists only in relation to others. The course trains the group’s understanding and synchronisation through choral exercises. This is accompanied by open work sessions and moments of cross-checking with the students of the different paths of the school, fundamental to develop scenic hold and ability to compare.

What Leaves the Course

Getting involved on stage forces you to compete with your own exposure. Mastering the technique makes it possible to naturally reduce stage anxiety and shyness. Using imagination to impersonate different lives not only enriches one’s expressive strength, but also refines one’s self-confidence and the quality of everyday interpersonal and professional relationships.

The course will culminate in a moment of final presentation, a concrete opportunity to share with the public the work done and the choral nature of the group.
