The Resistant Life

Saturday 4 July h 21.15
Camaiore – Valpromaro

By and with Andrea Collavino and Marcella Serli. Produced by ALDES

An actress and an actor, both directors, meet after reading The Disappearance of Rites by Byung-Chul Han. Marcella and Andrea have been doing theatre for a long time and this time they choose to do it together with the public, in an act of sharing similar to a ritual, where private memories emerge: blowing out the candles in the dark singing together, silently watching over a loved one, demonstrating, the bachelor party… A collective ritual in 60 minutes. A group tragicomedy that can hurt and console together.

Seven from Thebes to Sarajevo

Sunday 5 July h 18.00
Stazzema – Calcaferro mines Le Mulinette

Dramaturgy Vittorio Continelli and Caterina Simonelli. Con the young actors of La Stanza Company. Directed by Caterina Simonelli. Production IF Prana and Theme Culture

There is a red thread, made of blood and rubble, that unites ancient myth with contemporary history. Seven – from Thebes to Sarajevo explores the drama of war through a powerful parallelism: Thebes, torn apart by the fratricidal clash between Etheocles and Polynices, and Sarajevo, emblem of the longest siege of modern Europe. The young actors of the company La Stanza give voice not to the powerful, but to citizens, mothers and children. Directed by Caterina Simonelli, to remember that every war hurts humanity.

Show of The Sandbags. Con Gabriele Carli, Giulia Gallo, Giovanni Guerrieri, Enzo Illiano. Production Compagnia Lombardi-Tiezzi in co-production with I Sacchi di Sabbia. Con the support of Mic and Regione Toscana

The Shakespearean argument does not come from Homer, but crosses the Roman de Troie, Boccaccio and Chaucer. After seven years, the Trojan War weakens. Ettore launches a chivalric challenge, and in this truce the love between Troilus and Cressida blossoms, while Ulysses and Nestor manipulate Achilles to bring him back on the field. The show reinterprets the truce in a competitive key, with tones and actions that refer to modern sport.

By and with Giorgio Arimondi. Artistic Collaboration Collective U. Production Mowan Theatre. Cwith the support of Regione Toscana

The story of the first man to sail solo around the world. The story of Joshua Slocum is a chain of events, encounters, clashes, portraits of men and women, peoples and cultures that lead him to an intimate excavation of his ‘being in the world’. And if the gaze flows anchored to the route of the Spray, the same, in the background, sometimes discreet, sometimes irrepressible, sometimes sweet, you can always feel the immense breath of the sea.

Focus Under35

Tuesday 21 July h 21.15
Seravezza – Querceta White Cross

By and with Filippo Capobianco. Production Teatro Pubblico Ligure | Sergio Maifredi. Translation and performance LIS Angelica Intaschi

Moscerino does not know how to talk to his mother and there is no way that his mother, an important and always busy notary, can talk to him. The desire to communicate accompanies him over the years, from history to history, between Achaeans and Nurses, music and mathematics, mosquitoes, cosmologists and examination boards. The guide in this bizarre training trip is only one: poetry, which is also the last key to allowing mom and Moscerino to finally look each other in the eye.

Camaiore – Buckle

By and with Igor Vazzaz. Music and live interventions La Serpe d’Oro

Readings, words and songs from Cecco Angiolieri to Dante Alighieri, from Curzio Malaparte to folk songs, and beyond. A journey through lands and stories, from medieval sonnets to popular songs proposed in a unique and engaging way. An authentic discovery both for the Tuscans, who risk no longer remembering where they came from, and, above all, for the non-Tuscans, who often need a survival manual for what remains one of the most beautiful, fascinating and cursed lands in Italy.

Kotekino Riff

Saturday 25 July h 21.15
Seravezza – The Chapel

By and with Andrea Cosentino. Live music by Luca Giovacchini. Executive production by Cranpi. With the support of Mic

Kotekino Riff wants to be my game to get the work out of the way. What remains is, on the one hand, the actor, as a playful machine of meaning, and, on the other hand, the theatre as an exercise in community life. It is a chaotic coitus of interrupted sketches, a Russian roulette of gags about idiocy, a flow of decomposed dances, surreal monologues and music. Create expectations and deny them, to the point of undermining the role of actor and spectator. A joyful and nihilistic clowning with no other meaning than playing the game.

Elizabeth I

Massarosa – Roman Archaeological Area Massaciuccoli

Ideation and direction Giulia Spattini. Danced and created by Paolo Rosini and Giulia Spattini. Production of Civil Ballet. With the support of Drama Theatre, Out of Place Fisiko Festival, Housing ArtFest

A boxing match in 3 rounds recounts the inner life of Elizabeth I, seen as a wrestler in the ring with her coach. The show is not biographical, but explores her relationship to power and the price paid as a woman to legitimize it. It thus becomes a metaphor for the fiercest struggle: against oneself in order to assume one's responsibilities and remain faithful to one's nature.

20 Grams

Incursion Theatre in the Villages

Wednesday 29 July h 21.15
Montignoso – Cerreto

By Gioia Battista and Nicola Ciaffoni. Cby Nicola Ciaffoni. Produced by Caraboa Teatro

20 grams is the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere to send a single email.  This is what Nicola keeps repeating himself, an actor who tries unnecessarily to sell his show, ‘20 grams’, to theatres all over Italy. And so e-mail after e-mail, finally someone replies: The show is selected. What about now? How do you describe a climate crisis?

The Ghost Singer

Sacred and Profane Incursion

Friday 31 July h 21.15
Seravezza – Public Assistance Minazzana

By and with Ivan Talarico. Executive production Spider's Nest

It is an incredible story, which starts from a book found by chance: a long interview with an unknown singer-songwriter, true author of songs of great success. Thanks to the interview, Talarico traces its history and relationship with many famous songwriters who would have made his songs their own, up to the withdrawal from the scene and the disappearance of this gigantic but forgotten figure. How was it possible? And how creative mechanisms work: Who can really be the author of something?
